Chelsea Piers Aquatics Club Swimmers Shine at the 2022 Eastern Zone Speedo Sectionals!
38 swimmers from Chelsea Piers Aquatics Club competed in the Eastern Zone Speedo Sectionals North at Ithaca College on March 24-27. The team placed first in the Men’s, Women’s and Combined team competitions, earning 16 gold, seven silver and six bronze medals in individual races over the four-day meet.
"It was quite an accomplishment with over fifty teams attending, and I couldn't be prouder of them," said Interim Head Coach, Aaron Montgomery.
The team's camaraderie and spirit were as recognizable as their talent. Spectators, coaches, and athletes shared how impressed they were with our team. It shouldn't be surprising that most of the group stayed in Ithaca on Sunday night to compete and wait for the team awards ceremony. After winning four of the five titles (Men's, Women's Team, and Women's High Point), the team marched to the diving well at Ithaca College, holding each other's hands, and jumped into the pool to celebrate their victory together.
