Curriculum Highlights

Our new 2018 Full-Day Hockey Camp curriculum groups players by age and skill-specific groups to help meet the needs of each player looking for the ultimate camp experience. All three Player Development Levels are designed to expand level of play, experience personal growth and enjoy a fast-paced and challenging camp.

NEW OR DEVELOPING PLAYER

Skating

  •  Players learn body positioning, starts, stops, turning, crossovers and the use of inside and outside edges, proper turning and stopping with both feet on the ice, and proper skating stride.

Stick Handling and Puck Control

  •  The basics of controlling a hockey puck in motion and stationary positions, proper hand positioning, including cone drills and small ice games will be used to help increase confidence with the puck.

Passing

  • Campers will learn basic passing drills by building basic drills. Campers have the opportunity to slowly progress and become comfortable passing from a stationary position to passing in motion.
  • Passing elements will be broken down so that each camper will be able to pass accurately and with confidence.

Shooting

  • Like passing, shooting will be broken down into proper technique for forehand and backhand shooting, including breakaways, on timers and deflections.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED PLAYER

Team Play

  • Forwards will learn proper positioning in each zone and lane assignments for transition from zone to zone.
  • Defense will learn how to cover thin side of the ice, maintain discipline in their defensive zone, how to play against odd man rushes and how to make quick decisions.

Skill Development

  • Consists of all aspects of the game-skating, passing, shooting, positional play and much more. The goal of the program is for players to learn what it takes to start games fresher and finish stronger while increasing confidence and eagerness to perform.

ADVANCED PLAYER

Team Play for Forwards and Defensemen

  • Learn the skill of anticipating where to move on the ice in an offensive and defensive position.
  • Emphasis on communication, team building and play making.
  • Campers will learn different breakouts, neutral zone re-groups and a variety of forechecks.

Specialized Goal Scoring/Goaltending

  • When, where and how to execute the CORRECT shot from the BEST location to score, maximizing your shooting accuracy, power and goaltender analysis.
  • Shooters will learn the different styles of goaltenders, so they can easily pick up weak spots.
  • Goaltenders will learn how to pick up shooters tendencies, and how to direct traffic to ensure a clear view of the puck.

High Intensity Pre-season Camp

  • Sacrifice, sweat and countless hours of practice.
  • Concentration, enthusiasm and the willingness to work hard are the elements REQUIRED to be a part of this program.
  • Those who attend this camp will learn that the players willing to push themselves that extra step, are the players who can handle the next level.
