To Provide a Safe & Clean Gym Space
The health and safety of our community drives all that we do — now, more than ever. We have created the following protocols consistent with State regulations and in consultation with independent medical consultants to provide Fairfield County with a clean and safe gym space. We are strictly enforcing all protocols so that each of us can do our part to maintain the lowest-risk environment for all. All protocols are subject to change based on revised guidelines from state and local officials.
We have always, and will continue to use hospital-grade cleaners on the EPA list N-certified to kill COVID-19. Below is an outline of our daily cleaning protocol:
Enhanced Air and Surface Purification
We've taken safety measures beyond what you can see, to include our ventilation and high touch surfaces.
|Added Enhanced air purification technology:
|NanoSeptic continuously self-cleaning skins installed on high traffic door handles and push bars to continuously oxidize organic contaminants at the microscopic level.|
Protective Face Coverings
Per November 20, 2020 updated CT State guidelines, everyone is required to wear a face mask during check-in and check-out and throughout their stay at Chelsea Piers. Masks or protective face coverings must be worn properly, covering both mouth and nose, including while participating in a sport lesson or in Chelsea Piers Fitness activities, no exceptions*. This applies to both youth and adult athletes.
*Swimmers are allowed to remove their masks for safety reasons while in the pool.
We need your help to keep our community safe. We have increased the amount of sanitization stations around Chelsea Piers for your use:
|Hand Sanitizing Stations
To maximize safety for all members of our community and ensure social distancing, we are reducing capacities by 50%, per State guidelines.
|Reservations are required to access Chelsea Piers for all activities. Please do not come to Chelsea Piers without a reservation.
|Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your reservation and exit Chelsea Piers no more than 15 minutes after the end of your reservation time. Please do not congregate in any area of the facility.|
To foster the safest environment possible, we are asking for everyone to perform a self-health check at home prior to coming into Chelsea Piers and agree to our terms prior to entering the building.
Everyone entering the building will have to complete a mandatory Health Declaration online before each visit to Chelsea Piers or agree to the following by scanning in with their Chelsea Piers app. If under age 18, a legal guardian is responsible for completing the Health Declaration or agreeing for their child.
For the safety of our community, you agree that you have completed your self-Daily Health Check and agree to the following points:
|If you cannot agree to all the statements above, please do not enter Chelsea Piers.||Chelsea Piers will follow all Connecticut State guidance on negative COVID testing.|
For the time being, your check-in experience will be modified to ensure we are fostering the safest environment possible. Thank you for your patience and for committing to these processes with us.
|Everyone will check-in at the main entrance to Chelsea Piers.|
|Practice social distancing of 6 feet in all areas of the Chelsea Piers including at the entrance and check-in area.|
Members will be required to self-scan using their membership card or the Chelsea Piers App.
|Plexiglass partitions are now installed at the check-in desk and all operational desks throughout the facility.|
|Every person arriving to a Chelsea Piers facility will have to complete a Daily Health Declaration online before each visit to Chelsea Piers to confirm they do not have a fever over 100 F, are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms. If under age 18, a legal guardian will need to sign the Health Declaration for their child.|
|Protective face coverings will be required for entry into any Chelsea Piers facility.|
The safety of our community is of the utmost importance, the following safety protocol will be in place until further notice.
|We have put all of our front-line staff through re-training with a focus on sanitization and disinfection.|
Front-line and housekeeping staff will wear gloves that are changed often. Members and Athletes do not need to wear gloves, but are encouraged to wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
|Staff that can continue to work from home will do so and in-person shifts will be staggered to limit contact and help reduce facility capacity.|
Please practice social distancing of 6 ft in all areas of the Chelsea Piers including at the entrance, check-in area and lobby.
|To facilitate social distancing, we have adjusted our facility set-ups and equipment to increase distance amongst our members, customers and staff.|
|Signage throughout the facility will clearly direct you to follow one-way traffic patterns, maintain social distance and maximum capacities per space.|
|Group Fitness spaces have been divided into 12-foot squares to ensure safe distancing. No hands-on adjustments, typical in Yoga, will occur during group fitness classes.|
We are asking all members of our community to agree to our Community Compact. This document is a pledge that outlines how each of us will do our part to maintain a low-risk and positive environment for all at Chelsea Piers.Community Compact
