Meet Our Therapists

A dedicated team of Licensed Massage Therapists bring a wide range of expertise to Chelsea Piers Fitness, ensuring a relaxing and effective massage experience.

Richard H. Dixon III

Richard is a Licensed, National Board Certified Massage Therapist in the State of Connecticut. He received his training from the Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy (CCMT) in Westport, CT, graduating with honors in 2008 and is also certified in several specialty modalities. An active member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) he has had the opportunity to provide services to many athletic and sporting events, health/wellness fairs, Special Olympics, and private/public corporate events, including several charitable and promotional events. He has worked for Massage Envy Spa in Fairfield and Stamford County for five years as Lead Therapist.

Dixon was chosen as one the elite Massage Therapists to serve on the Sports Medicine Team at the 2016 NFL Draft Combine, in Boca Raton, Florida. He is certified in several modalities which include: Sports Therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral, Swedish Massage, Acupressure, Trigger Point, Pre-Natal and Reflexology. He is also proficient and knowledgeable with Reiki Massage.

Jill O'Shaughnessy

Jill is a Licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from the Connecticut School of Massage Therapy in Westport, CT.  She completed the full time program and graduated at the top of her class. Jill has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and has an extensive background in working with a variety of people while working in the motion picture industry. She is an avid runner and tennis player. Jill is training for the 2016 Brooklyn Half Marathon and the New York City Marathon.

Fitness is an integral part of her life and she understands the necessity of a regular massage therapy program when striving to reach individual fitness goals as well as injury rehabilitation and recovery. Jill specializes in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Work, Sport Massage, and Trigger Point Release. Jill is also a licensed practioner of Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage.

Daniel Stroup

Reducing Stress, Relieving Pain, Enhancing Performance.

Assessing your individual needs, Daniel incorporates a variety of massage techniques including Myofascial Release, Swedish, Trigger Point, Pin and Stretch, Cross-fiber Friction and others to create a unique massage, specifically for you and your individual concerns. Daniel’s massage experience includes sports, rehabilitation, physically challenged and relaxation massage.

Daniel is a graduate of The Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, Clinical Massage Therapy Program. He is massage licensed for both Connecticut and New York States. Beginning in 2013, Daniel has been volunteering as a Massage Therapist for the Boston Marathon, providing pre-event and post-event massage for the marathon participants.

Daniel is an avid equestrian, spending his free time riding and working with horses. He has volunteered his time with Pegasus Therapeutic Riding of Brewster, NY, assisting physically and emotionally challenged children learn to ride.

Alexandra Thompson

Alexandra Thompson, LMT, trained in a variety of modalities that include classic western massage, cross-tissue, trigger-point, pin and stretch, energy balancing, acupressure, sports and prenatal. Her specialties include deep tissue, sports, Swedish and cross-tissue, and is also certified in hot stone and Bamboo massage. Alexandra’s focus is to integrate the therapeutic aspects of massage to create a session specifically tailored to individual client's needs and goals.

Alexandra is a Graduate of Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) and certified through the National Certification Board for Massage Therapy and Body Works. She is also a member of AMTA.

Makena Mckain

Makena is a Board certified massage therapist in Connecticut and New York. She received an Associate Degree at the Swedish Institute in New York City.

Her goals are to decrease pain, improve range of motion and to communicate the value of self care. Her techniques involve many specialities which are tailored to each individual's needs. Makena is certified in pre and postnatal massage, Hot Stone massage and Myofascial Release (upper body) and she is currently pursuing a certification in Craniosacral therapy. Her specialities include Deep/Sports, Swedish massage and Medical massage.

Makena is a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is an associate of New York State Society of Medical Massage.
