Kathy Bambace Salvo

Head Masters Swim Coach

Kathy is a graduate and 4 year varsity swimmer of Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. Recruited for Tennis by the College but landed on the swim team after the first week of school. Kathy swam the 100 & 200 Butterfly and all Long Distant Free events. She was awarded " Rookie of the year" her freshman year and received "The Coaches Award" when she was a senior. Always an avid open water swimmer, Kathy started to compete and coach open water swimmers and Triathletes while working on Wall Street after graduation. She has over 20 years of swimming on several Masters swim teams and is a Certified Level Two Masters with coach with USMS.

Leaving Wall Street to support her daughter, who is now a Division 1 Water Polo player at Villanova, Kathy became deeply involved with Yoga under the guidance of Rodney Yee and Judith Lasater. Together with Swimming, Triathlon and Coaching she brings a unique perspective on balance, flexibility, anatomy, strength, and determination to her work with the Masters Team and others at Chelsea Piers.

Highlights of Salvo's career are: First Places Overall Female in the USAT Sprint Course National Championship, The Westchester Triathlon, 1989. Qualified and finishes The Hawaii Ironman World Championship 1989 & 1990.Greenwich Cup Champion 1989 & 1990. Salvo has competed in 9 Ironman Triathlons and over 100 Half, Ironman, Olympic and Sprint distance races in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Europe and Canada. Kathy is also a E RYT 200, RYT 500 Registered Yoga Teacher and Master Restorative Yoga Teacher.
